TEXTILE SLASHING / Sewing, cutting, and folding.

From the beginning, the two key concepts that have governed my textile work have been the use of color and the creation of textures through the superposition of layers of fabrics, intervened with seams, cuts, and folds. This series focuses on the possibilities offered by textiles to represent both abstract textures and visual effects. For this, I worked with various types of fabrics – linen, trevira, poplin, cotton, etc. – and materials such as insulators and wires that, incorporated between the fabrics, allowed me to achieve textures with a greater range of volumes. While the palette of this series is limited, the colorwork explores the awareness of the use of light and shadow produced by folding fabrics.
